Deon Richter has over forty years of experience as an economist, researcher, policy analyst and a lecturer. He has an extensive knowledge of public and development policy, evaluation of programmes, development finance, rural and institutional development and eco-tourism, with a broad background in business, agriculture and education. His involvement in economics has ranged from establishing and managing the Branch for Economic Development Co-operations for the Department of Foreign Affairs, as well as occupying the positions of General Manager Operations and General Manager Policy and Strategy at the Development Bank of Southern Africa. He was also a Director of the Small Business Development Corporation. Richter has been a Trustee of The Mvula Trust since its founding in 1993.He presently also serves on a number of Boards and Management Committees in the field of economic development.
